Dr. Robert Silvetz
Dr. Silvetz’s interest in Individualized Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is a natural outgrowth of his long interest and accomplished career in both technology and healthcare. Graduating from Boston University in 1989 with a Doctor of Medicine degree and a B.A. in both Computer Science and Medical Sciences, he spent the next several years developing and implementing medical software for large healthcare systems.
In the mid-1990’s, Dr. Silvetz served as the Chief Software Specialist for , as a member of Senior Staff, international technology contractor, SAIC, leading complex systems integration projects for healthcare providers such as Kaiser Permanente. In 1999, he founded Clinical Care Connexions in Washington, D.C. where he developed the first version of Care Call and CareCall Creator, tools that help to automate patient follow-up and monitoring.
In 2002, Dr. Silvetz began focusing more on medical sciences, moving to San Diego to help establish a novel cancer treatment as the Chief Medical Officer of Theraphesis, Inc., that showed great effectiveness on solid tumors. Over the next ten years, he worked as an Independent Medical and I.T. Consultant specializing in project management, sales support, economic utility, end-user redesign and evaluation of medical devices.
In 2012, he became the Chief Science Officer and Physician Liaison at Newport Brain Research Laboratory, where individualized Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation was first shown to effectively treat symptoms related to autism, stroke PTSD, depressions, anxiety, and stroke-induced dementia. At the Brain Treatment Center, Dr. Silvetz provided Practice of Medicine support to six client clinics worldwide and provided research and development directly to the protocol in mathematics and thermodynamics.
Dr. Silvetz has continued to contribute to cancer research with his invention of the BioPACK , a microfluidic immunotherapy device for cancer treatment, and the Protected Immunologic Space (patent awarded), another immunotherapy device to help cancer patients.
Returning to the Washington, DC area in 2016, Dr. Silvetz and his wife, Lorraine Silvetz, and partners, launched iSynchrony Clinics, where he is Director.
